Sanctification Through Consecration- Ray Grieshaber

A young man from Cincinnati, Ohio attributes the Marian Consecration with helping him to grow in holiness. Below is his talk to the St. Gertrude "20s Group" delivered on March 19, 2015 the feast of St. Joseph. The talk is titled "Sanctification Through Consecration: The Secrets of Mary, St. Joseph and Holy Mother Church."

CLICK HERE for Ray's talk on YouTube

Books Ray Mentions:
True Devotion to St. Joseph and the Church by Fr. Dominic De Domenico.
33 Days to Morning Glory by Fr. Michael Gaitley

Recently Ray wrote:

"My life changed in an unexpected way when I completed my Marian Consecration on December 8, 2012 using Fr. Gaitley's wonderful book 33 Days to Morning Glory.

I reverted to the Catholic faith a couple years prior after finishing college and was spending most of the time gaining a "head knowledge" grasp of the basics of the faith: learning the Our Father, studying the Catechism, and beginning to develop a prayer life. After completing the consecration, my life was..."overtaken" by Our Lady. My heart began to soften and mold much faster than before, and Our Blessed Mother became my constant companion through trials, joys, pain, and happiness. As she protected me and steered my spiritual life, I swiftly grew in love and devotion to Jesus; the Gospel message became true and real.

If there are those who have yet to complete this wonderful consecration, I ask that they only give Mary a chance to shape their hearts for an ever greater love."

JMJ,
Ray Grieshaber
President
St. Gertrude 20s group

Alabama women's consecration bears immediate fruit

a recent email from Janet in Alabama~

"I consecrated myself to Jesus through Mary using Fr. Michael Gaitley's book 33 Days to Morning Glory on March 25, 2015. I prayed I was open to any and all Mary had for me.

Well I got a call out of the blue from a cousin. She wanted to ask me about the rosary and if we (Catholics) worshiped Mary.

For the first time I feel I answered these question with out a struggle! I was confident and sure of the way I answered.

She thanked me and said she understood what I was saying although being Baptist that's not what she had been told about Catholics.

She then wanted to know if I would teach her how to say the rosary. Wow! I know Mary was speaking through me.

I just wanted to thank you four gals for doing the podcast. I will be getting in touch later

Your sister in Jesus through Mary,
Janet

Two St. Petersburg groups consecrate today!

Cat Chat Book Club consecrates

A group of women in St. Petersburg, FL formed a Catholic book club late last summer/early fall. Their lofty goals were to gather to read,  have fellowship, eat and learn more about their Catholic Faith (not necessarily in that order!) They named their group the "Cat Chat" book club (short for Catholic Chat.)

Books read so far include:
Story of a Soul By St. Therese
My Sisters the Saints by Colleen Carroll Campbell.
The Story of the Trapp Family Singers, by  Maria von Trapp
Saint John Paul the Great by Jason Evert

February 20, they started a new book and a beautiful new journey. They read 33 Days to Morning Glory by Fr. Michael Gaitley.

Some in the group had previously read/consecrated and even been in groups, but a few had never even heard of the book. Some were cradle Catholics, some were converts.

L to R Julie, Alicia and Bonnie of the Cat Chat Book Club. Not present: Helga, Kristen, Patti and Valerie
Today three of the Cat Chat book club members gathered for noon mass at St. Mary, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in downtown St. Petersburg. After mass, they gathered in front of the outdoor shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe to pray the consecration prayer.

Alicia, a Catholic Convert and first time reader commented "I love this book. I couldn't wait each morning to wake up and read the two pages a day."

Bonnie, a cradle Catholic said, "I am learning how much more I need to trust. Trust our Lady. She will help me in all ways."

Next book the club will read is also by Fr. Michael Gaitley The Second Greatest Story Ever Told. CLICK HERE for your FREE COPY

Pictured is the Immaculate Conception Parish, Springfield, Mo., 33 Days Consecration Group in part.

At least 30 of those who finished the 33 Days work were out of town for the holidays and made their consecration on their own at Mass wherever they were on New Year’s Day.

All of us thank you Julie and Lighthouse Catholic Media for all of your assistance in getting us started.  We are hoping the Consecration Retreats will be ongoing in our parish and Diocese until most all have come to glory in the maternal beatitude of our Blessed Mother.

Last night St. Gregory Catholic Church in Plantation, FL hosted the last stop on the 2015 Florida Divine Mercy Tour. The evening began with the rosary prayed at 6 pm, followed by music and singing.

At 7pm, pastor Fr Hoyer welcomed Fr. Michael Gaitley to speak to about 900 parishioners and others from the archdiocese of Miami.

 ----------------

From the author of the bestselling book 33 Days to Morning Glory comes a gripping account of the prophetic witness of St. John Paul II, and the profound connection between Marian Consecration and Divine Mercy. The Second Greatest Story Ever Told is more than a historical re-telling of the Great Mercy Pope. This book serves as an inspiration for all who desire to bear witness to the mercy of God, focused on Christ and formed by Mary. It calls us to respond to the urgent need for mercy in our time of unprecedented evil. Now is the time of mercy. Now is the time to make St. JPII's story your own.

Praise for the Second Greatest Story Ever Told:

"What do the Divine Mercy and the New Evangelization have to do with each other? Everything... if we understand what this book teaches: That 'this is the time of mercy' and that mercy is the gateway to truth in a wounded, suffering world."
- George Weigel
Biographer of St. John Paul II
