33 Days to Merciful Love group is Lovin' the new retreat

This September a group of about 30 women began gathering on Thursdays at the Shields home in St. Petersburg FL. Most of the women are members of St. Raphael Catholic Church, but some are from neighboring parishes and some are not even Catholic. Each week they have been faithful to read the 2 pages a day, gather on Thursdays for their small group discussions and WOW! God has been so faithful!

As the group learned more and more about St. Therese's Offering to Merciful Love and prepared for their consecration to Divine Mercy, they became very interested in the Jubilee Year of Mercy. Leaders Lisette Shields and Cary Lennereth told the group about the Jubilee and the Holy Doors at our Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle. Then the field trip plans began!

First Stop: Confession
Fr. Kevin Mackin of St. Raphaels offered several extra confession times. Some took advantage of the regular confessions at the Cathedral.
Next Stop: Mass and Prayers
Those going to the Doors arrived first for the 11 am daily mass. After mass they said the required prayers for the Holy Father.

Last Stop: Porta Sancta
Walking through the Holy Doors and receiving all the graces of the total forgiveness of sins during the Year of Mercy

These wonderful ladies are now inspiring more and more to receive the Jubilee Plenary Indulgence. CLICK HERE for more information on that.

The group will complete 33 Days to Merciful Love and make their Offering to Merciful Love on October 22, Feast of St Pope John Paul II.
