Mesa, AZ parish has 200+ parishioners consecrate

Displaying SAM_1132.JPGOver 200 parishioners of Christ the King parish in Mesa, Arizona, consecrated themselves to Jesus through Mary on the Solemnity of the Assumption, August 15, 2014. We were led by our pastor Fr. Matthew Henry, who lost his own mother only two weeks ago. Fr. Matt said the consecration reminded him in a powerful way that he has another mother in heaven.

The group retreat was given to three separate groups at the parish, two in English and one in Spanish. The consecration ceremony was conducted in both English and Spanish, including the consecration prayers. Over 500 consecration books in English and Spanish were distributed at the parish, and many parishioners who were unable to come to the ceremony consecrated themselves at home. At the end of the ceremony, Fr. Matt and a seminarian distributed over 200 Miraculous Medals. It was a beautiful day to honor our Blessed Mother for all she does for us!
